The SDG Secretariat in collaboration with Afrobarometer in Uganda the Uganda National NGO Forum organized a dialogue on the Afrobarometer SDG scorecard for Uganda, 2018-2022 to explore programming and policy interventions to fast track SDG performance for Uganda on 11 May 2022.

Afrobarometer is a pan-African survey research network that published SDG scorecards for 29 countries based on citizen views and experiences with services under 12 of the 17 SDGs. The goal is to give the public a voice making by providing high-quality public opinion data to policymakers, policy advocates, civil society, academics, media and donors. The inaugural Afrobarometer SDG Scorecard analysis shows that Uganda is not progressing well on poverty, hunger, and health care but is making progress on access to electricity and gender equality in financial control, among other findings.

Rt. Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba, the Minister General Duties/ Focal Minister for SDGs highlighted the need to prioritize SDG 1,2 and 3. She also emphasized the need to involve citizens in efforts to achieve zero hunger, improved health or safe, clean water and environment.
