The five Technical Working Groups are the backbone of the Coordination Framework. It is critical that they meet quarterly and submit reports to inform and drive SDG implementation.
The Technical Working Group on Planning and Mainstreaming coordinates mainstreaming of SDGs into all projects, budgets and plans in Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as Local Governments. The Technical Working Group is chaired by the National Planning Authority.
The Resource Mobilization and Financing Technical Working Group explores new sources of development financing to strengthen aid effectiveness, which will benefit all implementing agencies. The Technical Working Group is chaired by the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
It is the mandate of the Technical Working Group on Coordination, Monitoring & Evaluation and Reporting to ensure that information collected from day-to-day reviews and evaluations of projects and plans is collated and shared with stakeholders to track progress and to submit reports to inform policies and strategies. The Technical Working Group is chaired by the Office of the Prime Minister.
The Technical Working Group on Data coordinates data production through the National Statistical System for the monitoring of SDGs. Data is produced by the implementing agencies. The Technical Working Group is chaired by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics.
The SDGs are popularized through a national communication strategy and public outreach by implementing agencies. The Communication and Popularization Technical Working Group coordinates these efforts. The Technical Working Group is chaired by the Ministry of Information, Communication, Technology and National Guidance.
