Participants at the CSO Workshop on SDGs
by OpenSpace Center
On the 29th of February 2024, the Open Space Centre, with the support of Crossing Borders, hosted the inception meeting for the “Amplify Localization of SDGs” project at the Eureka Place Hotel. This event, building on the success of previous initiatives such as “SDGs Awareness through Debate” and “SDGs in Reality,” aimed to deepen the localization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within community spaces.
The primary goal of the inception meeting was to bring together 50 stakeholders, including youth leaders, community members, NGOs, business groups, media, trade associations, and religious leaders, to foster a shared understanding of the new project. The event sought to identify collaboration opportunities and facilitate stakeholder engagement with the SDGs at a grassroots level.
The meeting commenced with a detailed presentation on the objectives, scope, risks, and constraints of the “Amplify Localization of SDGs” project. Stakeholders provided valuable feedback to refine the project’s approach. Participants shared ongoing SDG-related initiatives, discussing potential collaboration points to maximize the impact of the project. The session facilitated the exchange of best practices in SDG implementation, stimulating learning and offering strategies to navigate common challenges. The inception meeting successfully engaged all 50 participants, setting a strong foundation for the Amplify Localization of SDGs project, and reaffirming the commitment to leaving no one behind in the pursuit of sustainable development.
