In June 2022, The SDG Secretariat was among the 19 Organizations that participated in a course intended to accelerate the implementation of SDG in Uganda organized by the Danida Fellowship Centre and facilitated by the 2030beyond initiative and INKA Consult. The Course empowered the 23 delegates from the 19 Organizations to critically reflect on the status of SDG implementation in Uganda.

The team visited the Disabled People’s Organisation, Danish Parliament and Danish Technical University. The champions also attended workshops with Danish Institute for Human Rights, Statistics Denmark. The main objective was to show how Denmark is implementing SDGs in all their activities.

The Uganda SDG Champions participated in a People’s Meeting in Denmark in a panel discussion “Uganda has the mic!” where they discussed Uganda’s progress on SDG implementation and civic space in Uganda. The SDG Champions will have a joint initiative to accelerate progress on SDG implementation for the development that leaves no one behind. The activities will include four regional mini-festivals and a national festival in Kampala, all to be spear headed by the SDG Secretariat.
