Uganda’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Bulletin for October – December 2025 offers an update on the country’s efforts to advance the 2030 Agenda. The bulletin highlights Uganda’s participation at the 2nd World Summit for Social Development, in global climate talks at the 30th Conference of Parties – COP 30, the SDG mission to the Republic of Korea, field activities, youth at the and gender champions in SDG implementation, progress in localizing the SDGs and strengthening institutions, collaborative initiatives with partners, multi-media initiatives for awareness creation and upcoming plans to accelerate sustainable development.

The bulletin outlines upcoming strategic activities to sustain momentum into 2026. The OPM will continue to coordinate SDG implementation, ensuring follow-through on commitments from 2025’s international forums including ARFSD-11, HLPF 2025 and UNGA80. In 2026, Uganda will undertake a review of the next set of focus SDGs at the 2026 U.N. High-Level Political Forum namely SDGs 6, 7, 9, 11, and 17. The SDG Secretariat, Office of the Prime Minister will support Voluntary Local Reviews in at least 15 districts, enabling local governments to assess and report their SDG progress, a move expected to enhance accountability and share best practices across communities.

On the national level, Uganda is set to launch an SDG Implementation Roadmap 2025 – 2030, aligned with the country’s fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV). This roadmap will prioritize high-impact interventions for the remaining SDG timeline, with emphasis on bolstering data systems, public awareness, financing and resource mobilization, mainstreaming SDGs into planning, and robust monitoring and evaluation. The approach is inclusive, aiming to engage all ministries, local governments, civil society, private sector, youth, media, and development partners in accelerating SDG achievement.

As a capstone event, Uganda will host the 4th Annual National SDG Conference in June 2026. This conference will gather stakeholders from government, academia, development partners, the private sector, and youth groups to review progress and renew collective commitment towards the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063. It will serve as an important platform to share successes, address challenges, and galvanize multi-sectoral action for the SDGs in Uganda.
